OUR MISSION AT HARRISBURG'S GREAT DOG PROGRAM
We are a federally-recognized 501(c)3 charitable organization formed to provide low-cost training support and education to dog owners in the greater Harrisburg area. We support relationship-based training and behavior modification plans that focus on the use of positive reinforcement.
We want to provide our services to those who:
Cannot afford a trainer
Have been turned away
Have been dissatisfied with prior training

OUR PHILOSOHPY
We support relationship-based training and behavior modification plans that employ a Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive approach (LIMA) which focuses on the use of positive reinforcement. LIMA describes a trainer or behavior consultant who uses the least intrusive, minimally aversive strategy out of a set of humane and effective tactics likely to succeed in achieving a training or behavior change objective.
CERTIFICATIONS
All of our trainers are members of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants
Our volunteers are PetCPR+ certified
